The program consists of 2 pieces, opening with L'oral de la danseuse aveugle created last year in Avignon, followed by nDa.

Since July 2008, a new company, CORNUCOPIAE The Independent Dance, has been responsible for all Chopinot's work. Henceforth, the space is organized around two orientations that are intended to dialogue and transform over time: Cap au Sud-Sud! and Projet Pacifique Sud. What artistic upheavals will emerge from observing the role of the spoken word in oral transmission, reflecting on the notion of independence and confronting visions radically different from our own, such as those that underpin Kanak and Maori cultures? After La Rochelle, CORNUCOPIAE chooses the port of Toulon as a place to live and create choreography.

L’oral de la danseuse aveugle

Created February 18-20, 2010 at Maison Jean Vilar, Avignon
Switch from the eye to the ear, from the written to the spoken word, from listening to listening. Re-engage with a certain idea of performance by choosing a non-frontal space to expose and connect in a different way. Re-attach oneself through other collected words, sensitive fragments outside oneself.

"...When she reaches the shore, she plucks out her eyes and moves towards the sea. She then begins to dance with her head tilted back, following the beach to its end. All night long. Every night. At dawn, she takes her eyes and puts them back in their place..."
* from the myth of the blind dancer "De chair et de pierre. Essai de mytho- logie kanak (Maré, Loyalty Islands)" - Charles Illouz.
