"Marie-Jeanne, two-tone, twelve years old, chosen especially for her gentle, quiet temperament... Marie-Jeanne is a cow and I'm going to dance with her to, among other things, confront my presence as a dancer with that of the animal. I already know that the audience will only have eyes for Marie-Jeanne, and that the first quality at the heart of my dance will be the taste of trans(e)parence. Working in the shadow of my cow, putting aside all serious ideas, these are two excellent supports for this adventure."
Régine Chopinot (March 2000) quoted in the program for Le Manège in La Roche-sur-Yon (May 2000)
