Associate artist in residence at Port des Créateurs, Toulon

How art and society converse, debate and debate the essential values of life.

In February 2017, Julien Carbone invited Régine Chopinot and Cornucopiae, her structure, to think about an associate artist project at Port des Créateurs.Working with the residents of the city center, whom Julien Carbone and Régine Chopinot have come to know over the years, and ensuring that these people, with their singularities and complementarities, discover and respect each other through encounters built on the strength of choreographic art, the art of silent speech, is a challenge that motivates and concerns them to the utmost. How do art and society dialogue, inveigh against each other, debate the essential values of life? How can we bring together people who don't look alike? A project for society? (...)

set up anchor points that encourage broader, more creative exchanges (...) Through a process of inclusion, the aim is to set up anchor points for community life that encourage broader, more creative exchanges at local level, and thus help to maintain urban sociability. These places are not the usual public spaces (airports, train stations, parks) where heterogeneous crowds pass through.
