On September 10 and 11, the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès and the MC93 are pleased to invite you to the public presentation of Avant toute chose.Avant toute chosea collective creation by 31 young school-leavers who have received scholarships from the Fondation, under the artistic direction ofAurélie Charon, Phia Ménard and Régine Chopinot.

Connected by their curiosity about the world, these artists are united in their desire to pass on, above all, the value of observation, practice, collection and know-how. That each artist may express what has given him or her the impetus above all else, what has enabled each to reveal himself or herself above all else, and to follow his or her own path. Avant toute chose, therefore, sheds light on the promises each of us has made to ourselves, and on the way each of us projects ourselves into the performing arts and, a fortiori, into the world.

After PANORAMA in 2022 directed by Cyril Teste at the Théâtre de la Cité internationale in Paris, Sweat, Glitter and Moolah in 2023 directed by Marlène Saldana and Jonathan Drillet at SUBS in Lyon, and Transmission Impossible presented in 2024 directed by Mathilde Monnier as part of the Festival d'Avignon, Avant toute chose is the fourth post-graduate project programmed by the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès for students receiving Artistes dans la Cité grants.
