Diptych

Carrière de lumière (Baux-de-Provence)
Festival apart

To open the festival, at the Carrières de Lumières in Les Baux-de-Provence, the French dancer-choreographer presents "Diptyque", designed so that the public can discover "Piécette" and attend the screening of "PMP au Japon", a video installation by Jean-Baptiste Warluzel. More than just a montage of rushes from rehearsals for "PACIFIKMELTINGPOT - PMP" in Japan, it represents a fantastic compilation of all the rehearsals for Régine Chopinot's latest international choreographic creation, finalized in Japan in September 2015.
"Piécette", a rhythmic score of dance, voice and percussion, performed by Simonne Rizzo and John Bateman and accompanied by the talented Spanish percussionist Curro Escalante Vargas. A work about listening, the pleasure of dialogue and play.
At the Maison du connétable in Baux-de-Provence, throughout the festival, Régine Chopinot will install two videos: Le Défilé (05:01 ', 1987) and KOK (04:04', 1988), as well as three costumes from two ballets representative of her fruitful collaboration with Jean-Paul Gaultier, whose creations have accompanied each of the choreographer's shows, from "Délices" in 1983 to "Soli-Bach" in 1994.
